A Place to Grow and Develop as a person

Five of the Best Help Self Books

on January 23, 2013

These are just five of the best books I feel people should get their hands on and read. I tried to pick a variety of books and cover different grounds with some self-help classics and some great new ones recently published too. But all these books all have one thing in common: to make you a better person, and to grow your inner self.

Power of Now by Eckhart Tole

This books takes you on a spiritual journey to enlightenment. The most important aspect of this book is to live in the NOW is not only enlightenment, but living in the present and letting go of the past. This is a top to bottom complete book about meditation and self-realization. This is definitely now a book where you can breeze through and read once. It definitely takes time to absorb the information and to really. It makes you think that there is much more room to grow inside you than you ever thought.

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

This a great book on mindset and breaking out of conventional thinking. There is a great deal of debate as to whether this is a work of fiction or his real life story. Whether or not this story is real, fake, or a mixture of both, he has great concepts such as liabilities versus assets; and great ideas to get you started on focusing on passive income and making your money work for you. This book is a great start to get your head in the right direction.

3. How To Win Friends and Influence People By Dale Carnegie

Dale Carnegie uses stories from all walks of life: from the leaders of the country to regular everyday people to show to you, “golden rules” and concepts to get along with people better, get your ideas across to others without offending them, and how to be a leader among your peers. Written in 1937, his ideals and principles still hold true till this very day.

4. The Richest man in Babylon by George S. Clason

This book provides great invaluable information about finances through lessons and stories set in ancient Babylon through 7 basic principles. Although this was a quick read, it is definitely worth reading again to pick up all these little “nuggets of information in the book. If you are interested in learning how to not only make money, keep it, and maybe even make money work for you, this is definitely a great start. I learned so much from this book and I immediately changed the way I spend my money since I read this book. Even after graduating college, I did not know these invaluable lessons about money.

5. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People By Stephen Covey

Title is very self-explanatory, but to do these habits, Stephen Covey teaches you about “paradigm” shifts that you would have to make in your mind first. Each habit slowly helps you to develop how you perceive everything around you and how making assumptions can hold you back and hinder you from achieving your full potential both in the business and personal realm. Although he has passed away, his message is still with us.
