Building good habits can be very difficult. Takes discipline and dedication to build a habit. Habits are so important that according to Tony Robbins, the quality of our lives is based on our habits. That is HUGE. Basically, your well being may well be dependent on the quality of your habits.
It may seem hard, but with a little bit a will-power, you can make a difference in your life.
Here are some steps to help you achieve it.
1. Write it down.
List 3-5 things that you want to have as a habit. It can be running every morning for example.
Write down a plan when to go running, how far to go running.
Set a schedule and follow it to a T. If you start falling behind on your schedule, simple re-adjust yourself.
2. One at a time.
Even though, you want to make a massive change, you have to focus on one new habit at a time. If you try to do too much, you will get stressed out and end up not learning any new habits.
3. Accountability
Keep yourself accountable with a journal. It there something in the way that prevented you from say running that morning, write it down and come up with a solution for next time.
4. Find a Buddy
If you find a buddy with the same goals, it is much easier to accomplish them than being alone. You can keep each other accountable and discuss why you weren’t able to accomplish your task. For example, running. Was it raining that day? Did you misplace your running shoes?
5. Change it Up
After you have been consistently running for at least 3 weeks, you have learned a new habit. Good Job! Now it is time to move on and tackle a new habit. In a year you can learn 14 NEW habits every 3 weeks.
